GoForty Pro Case Background & Features
The inspiration for the GoForty concept and keyboard design started with creator Salicylic Acid's desire to remake their debut work, the Naked48LED, using Choc v2 switches. Various details of this GoForty case pay homage to the Naked48LED.
The robust and precision-machined aluminum case provides an outstanding typing feel and sound profile. The raw machined brass sidebars develop a unique patina over time, offering the pleasure of aging and maintenance. Meanwhile, the synthetic leather attached to the bottom of the case adds a soft, refreshing tactile feel when handled on the go.
GoForty Frame Case Background & Features
Through sales of GoForty v1, observing that most users operated the keyboard in a caseless state highlighted a strong demand for a lower-cost case option. After careful consideration on how to minimize costs, the Frame Case was born—a raw, un-surface-treated frame designed to slide over the caseless setup.
While it maintains the caseless underlying structure and doesn't drastically alter typing feel, it adds a highly affordable case option to the lineup. Compared to the Pro Case, which pursues luxury and perfection, the Frame Case embraces the fun of DIY custom keyboards, with planned support for acrylic layer options and 3D-printable bottom cases (data to be released at a later date).

Convex Keycaps Features
Convex keycaps feature a slightly bulged, convex top surface often used for spacebars. Since thumb keys are hit with the side of the finger, standard keycap profiles can cause sharp edges to dig into your thumb. The convex shape provides a soft contact area, ensuring comfortable typing during long sessions.
Designed with reference to popular low-profile keycap profiles, these integrate seamlessly even when mixed with XVX Low Profile keycaps.
Convex Keycaps Package Contents
Each set is tailored to match the specific keyboard layout:
GoForty Ortho Set: 1.25u x 4
GoForty JP Set: 1.25u x 2, 1.5u x 1
*GoForty US uses a 6.25u spacebar, so a separate convex keycap set is not required.
Compatible Switches
Kailh Choc v2 Switches
*Cherry MX-compatible switches can be used but are not recommended. Not compatible with Kailh Choc v1 switches.
Important Notes & Precautions
GoForty Pro Case
Please note that minor blemishes or coating irregularities listed below are considered acceptable within quality standards. Returns or exchanges for these reasons will not be accepted after purchase:
Scratches, tool marks, or paint flaking around screw holes on the internal surfaces of the case (areas hidden once PCB and keycaps are installed).
Coating unevenness equal to or smaller than 2mm.
Machined Brass Sidebars
The brass sidebars are CNC-machined from solid brass blocks and included without any surface treatment. Consequently, tool marks (machining lines left by end mills) will be visible, and the brass will naturally oxidize over time.
If you prefer not to have this aged patina, please polish them periodically with a metal cleaner (such as Pikal) or apply a clear protective coating.
GoForty Frame Case
This product is a raw aluminum case with no surface treatment. Please understand the characteristics of untreated aluminum before purchasing.
Standard aluminum cases undergo sandblasting to erase tool marks, followed by anodizing or E-coating. This product omits all surface finishing steps. As a result, the surface scratches easily, and CNC machining marks remain visible. Returns for initial defects will only be accepted in cases where the product is structurally unusable (e.g., severe cracks or major dents).
Additionally, untreated aluminum naturally oxidizes over time, turning a hazy matte white color. If you do not enjoy this natural aging process, polish it periodically or apply a clear protective coat.
Bottom Cover
The included default bottom cover is made of synthetic leather cut and laser-engraved. While manufactured with care, minor laser burn marks from the engraving process may remain. Clean gently with a wet wipe when necessary.
Convex Keycaps
Manufactured via JLCPCB 3D printing service using PA12-HP Nylon (Dyed Black).
Due to 3D printing tolerances, stem fitment may vary slightly:
If the fit is too loose, place a small piece of masking tape over the switch stem before inserting.
If the fit is too tight, gently scrape the cross-shaped groove inside the stem receiving socket with a toothpick or small fine file.
Unused nylon powder may remain in fine crevices due to the SLS 3D printing process. Scrape gently with a toothpick if present.
Minor color variations or spots may occur during factory dyeing.
Keycaps are attached to runners for manufacturing reasons; please remove them using nippers before use. Broken runners upon delivery do not affect keycap usability.
